SAVE LAKE ALMANOR
NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT! The State Water Resources Control Board will be taking comments regarding their draft Environmental Report, which negatively impacts Lake Almanor and surrounding communities, until March 26. Please take the time to share your concerns, and ask your friends, family and neighbors to do the same. You do not have to be a technical expert on the subject to voice your opinion/opposition. Letters and emails from the public do get results! It can be as simple as sending a postcard stating you are against the removal of cold water due to negative impacts on the lake as well as economic hardship on the community. Your comments and concerns will carry weight and make a difference.
Please write or send an email now. Sample letters are included below so you can cut and paste, add and/or delete as you feel necessary to help with what you want to say. More detailed information is available at www.savelakealmanor.org . You can also contact Wendi Durkin, Chairman of the Save Lake Almanor campaign, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (530)259-5687. Wendi’s "Save Lake Almanor" folks will have information and sample letters for use as well.
Letters should be addressed to:
State Water Resources Control Board
Division of Water Rights
Water Quality Certification Program
P.O. Box 2000
Sacramento, CA 95812-2000
or email at Peter.Barnes@waterboards.ca.gov
Please share your thoughts. Every comment is important and has weight. Let’s show them that we are absolutely serious about this issue. We all need to get behind the "SAVE LAKE ALMANOR" campaign that we all hoped was dead and buried.
Thank you for your support,
